The Lizard King Awaits…
Struggling reader, Bobby Baker, is afraid he'll
flunk fifth grade until Eli, the potato boy, shares an unbelievable secret. The mythical Lizard King, hidden somewhere in the Florida wetlands can solve all their problems. Armed with home-made traps and potato blasters, the boys set off to capture the elusive lizard.
But something or someone is out to stop them!

I am developing my debut middle grade novel, Legend of the Lizard King, as part of the Advanced Writing Course with the Institute of Children’s Literature. I have the great fortune to be working directly with Kevin McColley, a critically acclaimed author and National Book Award nominee, who is my mentor and instructor.
